About the Role
We are currently looking for a Junior Designer/Draftsperson to join our team. Working closely with a Senior Designer and other drafting team members, the Junior Draftsman will perform duties related to modular systems design including: design of pressure vessels, producing complete construction drawings with all necessary details and bill of materials, creating fabrication drawings of various steel structures, producing schematics and other responsibilities as requested. Projects include conventional oil & gas processing equipment and facilities.
You will bring a high level of self-motivation, willingness to learn, collaboration and initiative in your work to meet the needs of clients. We are looking for team-oriented individuals who can also work independently with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and who work well in an entrepreneurial environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create drawings using AutoCad; CADWorx 3D modelling software is an asset
- Produce PFD’s, P&ID’s
- Design of pressure vessels (Separators, Heat Exchangers, Heaters, Towers etc.)
- Producing drawings of platforms, ladders, piping supports and other related items
- Equipment Layouts for proposals
- Review of vendor documentation
- Produce electrical drawings and schematics
- Perform design work in coordination with other project disciplines
- Modify and revise construction drawings including “As Built” as required
- Other drafting support and assistance as required
Requirements
Education/training:
- Design/drafting diploma from recognized post-secondary institution, or other equivalent technical education or training
Experience:
- Knowledge of oil and gas production projects is preferred; Previous drafting experience in Oil & gas sector is an asset
- Background knowledge of ASME, ANSI, B-31.3 codes is an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills; Self motivated and detail-oriented
Additional Information:
- This position is based in our office in Nisku, Alberta; preference will be given to candidates based in the Edmonton area
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
