Senior Project Manager

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the engineering, procurement, fabrication (EPF) and overall project management for key projects. The Senior Project Manager will also be required to collaborate effectively with design and fabrication teams during production. The successful candidate will be a project leader and key contributor to the success of our projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Along with exceptional project management and coordination capabilities, you will bring a high level of technical expertise, collaboration and initiative in managing projects to meet the needs of all project stakeholders. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who can also work independently, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and works well in a fast-paced EPF environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects varying in size, scope and complexity, including large, technically
    complex projects
  • Plan and coordinate work and deliverables of various disciplines to ensure all
    engineering and fabrication deliverables and contractual obligations are met and
    delivered on schedule
  • Coordinate various internal groups in project activities including model reviews,
    procurement activities, deliverables review process, and other areas
  • Generate and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, Data sheets, Material
    Requisitions, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate work internally between office & production/fabrication teams
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Drafting and Fabrication groups to review and resolve any
    engineering and fabrication issues
  • Anticipate project risks and implement mitigation plans, ensuring delivery to project
    schedule
  • Manage change orders and cost control; report on project cost and performance,
    ensuring targets are achieved or exceeded
  • Correspond, develop and manage collaborative relationships with clients; manage and
    lead client reporting and progress meetings
  • Size, select and procure equipment; establish and develop strong relationships with vendors
  • Perform other project management responsibilities as required

Requirements

Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology
    Diploma preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation preferred, but not required
  • P. Eng or CET Certification required

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Project Manager required
  • 5 – 10 years experience in Oil & Gas equipment design, procurement, and fabrication
  • Experience managing projects of $15 Million+ involving engineering, design and
    fabrication
  • Previous EPF experience required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; Self motivated and detail-oriented
  • Strong project and team leadership skills required

Additional Information:

  • Travel to client offices or sites may be required
  • This position is based in our office in Nisku, Alberta
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
