Crude Fractionation Facility

Crude Fractionation Facility

ARJAE supported the development of a 15,000 bbl/day crude fractionation facility designed to separate crude feed into multiple refined product streams. The project brought together process engineering, equipment design, and fabrication expertise to deliver a reliable processing system supported by integrated plant utilities and infrastructure.

Through close coordination between engineering and fabrication teams, ARJAE delivered a facility designed for efficient operation, reliable product separation, and long-term performance.

Project Scope & Objective

This project involved the design and fabrication support for a crude fractionation facility capable of processing 15,000 barrels of crude feed per day. The facility was engineered to separate crude feed into multiple refined product streams while integrating essential plant utilities and infrastructure.

ARJAE’s role focused on developing an efficiently integrated processing unit, ensuring that the fractionation system and supporting plant services worked together to support stable operations and dependable performance.

Engineering & Design Approach

The facility was developed using an engineering-first methodology, allowing process design, equipment layout, and constructability considerations to be addressed early in the project lifecycle.

Fractionation equipment and plant utilities were developed in parallel to support efficient separation, stable plant operation, and long-term maintainability. This coordinated approach helped ensure smooth integration between process equipment, piping systems, and facility infrastructure.

Facility & Fabrication Execution

Fabrication and assembly activities were completed within ARJAE’s indoor fabrication facility, providing a controlled environment for structural steel fabrication, piping systems, and modular components.

Close collaboration between engineering and fabrication teams supported the efficient construction of the plant piperack and supporting systems, ensuring seamless integration with plant utilities and processing equipment.

Challenges & Solutions

The project required careful coordination between multiple product streams, complex piping systems, and supporting utilities. Key challenges included integrating the fractionation equipment with plant infrastructure while maintaining efficient layout and constructability.

These challenges were addressed through:

  • Detailed process and layout planning

  • Modular fabrication strategies

  • Early coordination between engineering and fabrication teams

This approach streamlined fabrication, simplified installation, and ensured effective integration between the fractionation equipment and plant support systems.

Outcome

This project highlights ARJAE’s ability to engineer and fabricate integrated crude processing facilities. Through coordinated engineering, fabrication, and facility integration, the project delivered a reliable fractionation system supported by robust plant utilities and infrastructure.
