Quality Control Inspector

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our multi-disciplinary team in our Nisku facility. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who can also work independently and has strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Working collaboratively as a key member of the Production team, the QC Inspector will ensure Arjae’s quality exceeds regulatory and client requirements, and relevant specifications and codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain procedures for visual inspections of welds
  • Perform visual inspections through all stages of fabrication and assembly
  • Ensure technical documentation is created, maintained and followed – including project drawings, specifications, welding procedures, inspection plan, and instructions
  • Organize and maintain client/project QC files
  • Complete inspection reports
  • Verify all NDT completion; releasing piping for hydro test
  • Generate ITPs in relation to scopes of work and signing off
  • Work with production and NDE Coordination
  • Generate piping data reports AB-83, AB-25, A-40; complete for client approval
  • Review NDE reports for compliance to client specifications and codes (ASME Sec. II, V, XIII & IX, CSA W59, B31.3, B 31.1)
  • Complete “As Built” drawings
  • Generate NCRs when required
  • Mark welds for NDE; coordinate and liaise with NDE contractors
  • Dimensional inspection, receiving inspection, visual weld inspection, pressure test witness & inspection
  • Create weld-maps, NDE–maps, final dimensions & orientation checks
  • Follow and maintain Inspection and Travel Sheets
  • Report and document Non-Conformance; Ensure rework is tracked
  • Understand and ensure adherence to Arjae’s Quality Management System
  • Actively participate as a key member of the Production team; provide inspection and testing guidance and input
  • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and ensure that welder certifications and status logs are maintained
  • Review and approve all third party test results for compliance with requirements
  • Provide expertise, guidance, and knowledge to the production team regarding codes and standards.
  • Coordinate turnover activities with production teams and assist in creating manufacturers record book
  • Effectively collaborate with and maintain communication with Production Manager, Leads and other members of Production/Fabrication team
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by Production Manager
  • Liaise effectively with the Client’s Inspector, third-party testing organizations and ABSA Inspector


  • CWB level 1 or 2 Visual Weld Inspection
  • Previous experience in trades (ie. welder or pipefitter) an asset
  • Piping / Vessel Experience is required
  • Experience creating Travel Sheets
  • Weld and NDE tracking experience
