Project Engineer

The Company

Arjae Design Solutions Ltd. is a fast growing Engineering, Design and Fabrication company providing unique solutions to clients in the energy industry.  With an expanding scope of projects, we are involved in engineering and fabrication of oil & gas equipment, existing plant upgrades, as well as new facility design and fabrication work.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer as a key member of our team in the detailed design, procurement, execution planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure scope, schedule and other performance goals are achieved.

You will bring a high level of technical expertise, collaboration and initiative to our projects to meet the needs of clients.  We are looking for a team-oriented individual who can also work independently, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and who works well in an entrepreneurial environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, Data sheets, Material Requisitions, Purchase Orders, etc.
• Perform detailed design for a variety of clients/projects; conduct reviews with key stakeholders
• Size, select and procure equipment and materials
• Work closely with clients, vendors and other project stakeholders
• Collaborate with other members on the company’s Design and Fabrication teams.
• Support and facilitate work between multi-discipline Engineering & Drafting groups, Project Manager, and client to ensure successful execution of project
• Facilitate work internally between office & production/fabrication teams
• Address and resolve issues impacting project scope, performance, schedule and other key project deliverables

Requirements:

Education/Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Alberta

 Experience:

• 5+ years experience as a Project Engineer
• Previous EPFCM experience required
• Experience with contracts, change and scope management, and client interface required
• Experience working as an integral member on a multi-discipline engineering team
• Previous plant operations experience preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills; Self motivated and detail-oriented

Additional Information:

• This position will be based in our office in Nisku, Alberta
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Occasional travel to client sites may be required
